Volunteer applications are now open
Upon applying, you should expect to hear back sometime within two to three weeks.

If you plan to attend EH Con Canada, we highly recommend that you purchase a ticket.
While tickets are not refundable, if you are selected for a volunteer position, tickets will be transferable to others.
volunteer teams (tentative)
These are the tentative teams that we anticipate having at EH Con Canada:
Taking photos and videos during the convention, drafting captions for social media posts, editing photos and videos post-convention, and managing the live panel streaming. Please indicate in the comments section what type of camera you use, what editing softwares you are familiar with and have installed on your computer, and if you will be able to bring your equipment with you to the convention.
Guiding and assisting attendees in line management during autographs, photo ops, meet & greets, and more.
Managing on site sales for autographs and photo ops.
Directing attendees into the panel room towards their specified seating areas, Managing microphones.
Engaging with and motivating Earpers to play games, ice breakers, and more.
Assisting attendees in getting registered and receiving their convention passes. Please indicate in the comments section if you have cash management experience.
Managing on site merchandise sales. Please indicate in the comments section if you have cash management experience.
Checking convention passes are valid, ensuring the comfort and safety of all convention goers, checking bags and props to ensure nothing unsafe is being brought on site. Please indicate in the comments section if you have experience with conflict resolution or de-escalation.
Provides ASL translation for attendees who are hard of hearing or deaf at autographs, photo ops, meet & greets, and more.
Checking in with attendees and providing emotional support to ensure that they feel comfortable and safe. Spends time brainstorming and exploring possible options to increase the attendee’s ability to manage and cope with the situation by providing resources and information. Am available for training (video and in person, prior to start of convention). Please indicate in the comments section if you have experience volunteering or working in a helping profession or setting.

What are the different roles I can volunteer as?

What are some perks of volunteering?
Volunteering for 4 hours one day will get you admissions into the Con free of charge for the remainder of that day. Volunteering for 8 hours one day will get you admissions into the Con free of charge the following day.
What if I plan to get autographs or attend photo ops?
If you plan to get autographs or attend photo ops, please let us know in advance during the application/interview process so we can schedule accordingly.
Will I be able to attend panels if I volunteer?
We will try our best to accommodate everyone’s schedules, however, please be aware that part of volunteering means you may be stationed in a particular location and time (for example: photo ops or autographs room) and as a result, you may miss panels.
What is the minimum age to volunteer?
The minimum age to volunteer is 19. If you are under the age of 19 and interested in volunteering, permission from a parent or legal guardian will be required.
Can I choose what roles to volunteer for?
You will be able to specify which team(s) you would like to volunteer for on the volunteer application.
If I purchase a 3 day pass, can I still volunteer?
Yes. Please let us know in your application how many hours you are available to volunteer and if you plan on attending any workshops, M&Gs, etc.
Is it mandatory to purchase a convention pass in order to volunteer?
No, it is not. Volunteering for 4 hours one day will get you admissions into the Con free of charge for the remainder of that day. Volunteering for 8 hours one day will get you admissions into the Con free of charge the following day.
I have background experience with photography/security/first aid. Will there be any opportunity to help with these?
